Mungkin ini salah satu cara yang simple mengatasi virus generic :

Buat sebuah file ber extensi .BAT
Caranya adalah :

Buka Notepad

copy paste kode berikut ke Notepad

@ECHO off
Echo Script by http://poppies407.com
reg  add  HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\netbt\parameters  /v  TransportBindName  /t REG_SZ  /d  “”  /f
reg  add  HKLM\Software\Microsoft\OLE  /v  EnableDCOM  /t  REG_SZ  /d  “N”  /f
Echo Script by http://poppies407.com
Echo Generic Host Error Problem Is Fixed, Press any key to continue
pause

 Save dengan extensi BAT
contoh nama file : generic.bat

Pada File of  Type yang awalnya adalah text Document (*.txt)
rubah menjadi : all files
